On The Porch With Pat - April 2023

Updated: Feb 2

Happy Easter

The day that changed the course of every believers life is celebrated each year throughout the world. It all began with a plan drafted in the portals of heaven, the Son accepts the will of the Father, He will become the Lamb of God.

Utter confusion spread throughout the land; how could it be? Where is the Messiah, the one who will free us from Roman domination? Who is this Man that the seas and the winds obey His command? The blind see, the lame walk, the deaf hear, the demons tremble at His voice. Why doesn't He speak up, and save Himself? Why is He defeated?

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16-18 New King James Version

The Passion of Christ movie is as close to the actual crucifixion that we've seen. The brutality, the crown of thorns, and His visage was so marred He was not recognizable. The cat-of-nine-tails shredded His back, the Lamb of God. The sound of nails piercing His wrists and feet reverberated throughout all creation, the Father turns away from Him, His holiness prevented Him from looking upon the sins of the world laid on Him. The precious blood was poured out, as the Savior cried out It is finished!

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25), and in that statement claimed to be the source of both. There is no resurrection apart from Christ, no eternal life. Jesus does more than give life; He is life, and that’s why death has no power over Him. Jesus confers His life on those who trust in Him, so that we can share His triumph over death (1 John 5:11–12).

Today I Invite you to receive Him as you Lord and Savior

Pray this prayer with me...

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to you that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

From our porch to yours, Happy Easter!
