Rev. David Turyatemba

Co-Founder Set Free Ministries, Pastor of Glory Release Church and Director of the Born to Win Skilling Center

I am David Turyatemba, a Ugandan born-again believer since 1989, serving as both a pastor and journalist. I lead Set Free Ministries and Glory Release Church, ministries dedicated to serving the underserved communities in the slums of Kampala, Uganda.

My professional background includes freelance journalism, contributing political, health, and environmental reports to various radio stations focused on issues affecting Kampala’s marginalized populations.

In 2000, I received a clear call from God, and by April 2004, my wife and I responded by establishing Glory Release Church and Set Free Ministries to minister in Kampala’s slums. Our mission is steadfast: to serve the Lord faithfully and advance the Great Commission by expanding God’s Kingdom as entrusted to us by Jesus Christ.

In December 2003, I married my beloved Petronilla. We have been blessed with many years of marriage and are proud parents to three daughters—Destiny, Prudence, and Sandra.

I Am Petronilla Nyangeri Turyatemba, I’m a Kenyan but married Pastor David, a Ugandan, in 2003. I got saved in 1992. We are the proud parents of three daughters Destiny, Prudence, and Sandra.

My passion and goals are to work with the community and transform people’s lives.

Currently, I work with Broken Clay Church Sacco as the Administrator.

I have extensive training and hold a diploma in Cooperative Management, and have trained in Internal Audit and Credit Management.

Previously I worked with Faridi Teachers Sacco for 14 years as Loans Officer and Faulu Bank in a retail department.

We live in the suburbs of Uganda’s capital City, Kampala, in the Bukasa-Muyenga, Makindye Division.
