New Planet Primary School
The year 2022 marked a series of significant firsts for New Planet Primary School, a beacon of hope in Kampala’s underserved communities. Shortly after the visit of Pat and Larry in August, Broken Clay Ministries (BCM) successfully facilitated the installation of a reliable water supply to the school—a resource that had been absent since the school’s founding in 2009. This critical development provides students and staff with essential access to clean water for cooking, drinking, handwashing, and sanitation.

In conjunction with the water supply, NPPS also upgraded its sanitation facilities by replacing the traditional pit latrine with modern flushing toilets. This improvement has profoundly enhanced the hygiene standards and overall health environment for both students and teachers, reflecting BCM’s commitment to fostering safe and dignified learning conditions.

Another significant achievement in 2022 was the partnership established between BCM and Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse ministry. Through this collaboration, NPPS students participated in the Bible-based curriculum “The Greatest Journey,” designed to nurture spiritual growth and biblical understanding. Upon completing the course, each student was honored with a Certificate of Graduation, celebrating their commitment and progress in their faith journey.

Additionally, NPPS students were beneficiaries of the internationally renowned Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Outreach. Since its inception in 1993, this global initiative has delivered over 198 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 170 countries and territories. For many NPPS students, receiving a shoebox was their very first gift, symbolizing not only joy and kindness but also a tangible expression of God’s love and care.

These milestones collectively signify a transformative era for New Planet Primary School—strengthening not only the physical infrastructure but also the spiritual and emotional well-being of its students.
